MON 4-5PM:
NFTs 101
Speaker: GT Sewell – Oshi Gallery
Do you want to know what an NFT is and how to make one? Experienced OG GT Sewell will take you through the basics and much, much more. He’ll talk about:

  • Avoiding scams and being safe
  • how to create an NFT, which platforms
  • how to price your work
  • how to grow your following – “Stack collectors, not Ethereum”
  • understanding the market dynamic – what are flippers, what are diamond hands?

GT has operated successful galleries, advising and mentoring thousands of emerging, mid-career, and established artists across both the traditional and digital art worlds.

GT has designed and created major public art events for corporate and non-profit enterprises, including hosting the Melbourne leg of Australia’s first cryptoart exhibition. He has over 20 years’ experience as an artist, curator and digital fine art printer.

Deeply immersed in the digital art and blockchain realms since 2017, GT has helped advise and onboard artists both nationally and globally.

He has been instrumental in guiding companies and projects, helping them with concepts and strategies to launch into the crypto and NFT space. GT understands what creators need to navigate and build a strong presence in this ecosystem.

Curating NFTs for Galleries IRL and identifying and nurturing NFT artists with talent
Speaker: Jane Rolls – Oshi Gallery

Jane will be speaking on the shift from physical to digital to NFTs.

  • advice on what curators look for
  • how to put together a good NFT collection either as a collector or curator
  • what are the pitfalls of the NFT space and how to avoid the noise
  • advice for emerging NFT artists, collectors and curators

Jane has worked in the design and creative world for over 20 years. Working as a project manager for one of Australia’s leading retail brands, Jane has worked with global brands like Marvel, Disney & DC, along with cultural institutions such as NGV, State Library of Victoria & National Archives.

Jane has established an extensive network of artists, collectors and institutions in Australia and overseas through her curatorial roles. Having built successful galleries from conception to delivery, she has a trusted presence with a high profile in the contemporary art scene.

Being involved in the cryptoart space since 2017, she is recognised as a reputable collector liaison and advisor to many emerging and established artists in the digital art marketplace.

Emerging Artists – Barriers & Breaking Through With Technology
Speaker: Matthew Everitt Dreamtime Art
Matthew will be speaking about how emerging artists can reach new markets through technology. By creating NFTs emerging artists can help level the playing field. A decentralised marketplace means artists can connect with collectors.
Learn how to :

  • protect your intellectual property
  • find new distribution channels
  • understand how royalties work in the NFT space
  • build confidence as a NFT artist no matter where you come from or who you are.

Matthew is the owner and founder of ‘Dreamtime Art Creative Consultancy’, a business that helps to navigate clients and artists through the Indigenous cultural landscape. He is also the member of several boards pertaining to Indigenous empowerment.

TUE 4-5PM:
Opportunities in Web3 for NFTs
Speaker: Michael Fairbairn RMIT Blockchain Innovation Hub
Michael will speak on what success in the NFT space looks like. He will help founders identify opportunities, look for gaps in the marketplace and how to step out a good strategy for NFT success.

The market is growing at such a rapid space, Michael will help:

  • understand what the future of the NFT space could look like
  • what kinds of people/skills/projects are going to make it
  • understand how collaboration, risk, failure, community and other elements of the NFT space work and integrate

Michael is the Associate Director of Business Operations and Engagement at the Blockchain Innovation Hub at RMIT University. He has worked with a range of startups within the digital economy space.

Michael Bacina
NFT Legals – copyright, tax and more
Michael advises companies dealing with Digital Law: the intersection of cutting edge technology, automation and innovation. As a former software developer, Michael has a rare combination of technical, regulatory and legal skills which he leverages to assist his clients.

Michael works with Fintech, Regtech, Blockchain, digital asset projects from enterprise level deployments bringing technology to existing business models, scale-ups , start-up ventures, cryptocurrency payment providers and more.
Since founding and exiting a successful IT business in the early 2000s, Michael has maintained an active involvement in software development. He is knowledgeable in the workings of (and legal issues surrounding) digital currencies and digital assets, blockchain projects, smart contract issues as well as FinTech and RegTech projects.

NFT Marketplace Strategy, Commerce and Utility

The DAO Joan Index
Joan is a Web3 / NFT writer, angel investor, communicator, and creative director. She is the founder of the branding and creative firm Studio Self. Her approach to messaging, communication, and semiotics has built her reputation as a writer, and she has been named as one of the leading startup voices in Australia.
